No one knows for certain exactly the role of the Jews in the death of Jesus. There were complaints about Jesus' activities by certain Jewish officials connected with the Temple, but the final authority for Jesus' execution rested solely with the Romans, and they were the only ones who had sufficient reason to fear him as the leader of a possible Jewish uprising. Hence their haste in taking him prisoner, finding him guilty and binding him to the cross.

Hi Rabbi,
With the new Mel Gibson movie, "The Passion" coming to the screen, many Jews are concerned about a rise in antisemitism. If asked "why did the Jews kill Jesus or is the movie true", how would I recommend Jewish friends and teens should answer this question?
